Dr. Karen Johnson is the Medical Director of Women’s Healthcare of Illinois and is a board certified obstetrician & gynecologist. Dr. Johnson has a special interest in helping treat women suffering from issues surrounding intercourse, such as pain with intercourse and desire. She is also interested in osteoporosis, herpes simplex virus, menopausal syndrome and general obstetrics and gynecology.
Dr. Johnson grew up in Detroit, MI. She is a graduate of the University of Michigan and completed her medical school training at Wayne State University School of Medicine in Detroit. She went on to complete her residency in obstetrics and gynecology in 1998 at Wayne State University Detroit Medical Center. Dr. Johnson worked at St. Francis Hospital in Blue Island for two years and then joined Women’s Healthcare of Illinois in 2000. She is a Fellow in the American College of Obstetricians & Gynecologists. Dr. Johnson specializes in minimally invasive surgery and is a certified da Vinci® robotic surgeon.
Dr. Johnson lives with her husband and two children in Chicago. She loves spending time with her family and friends. Together they enjoy trying new restaurants, exercising and traveling. Dr. Johnson is an avid reader and enjoys books that are informational and can change perspective.
