Prenatal Yoga

When: Noon to 1:15 p.m., for six consecutive Sundays, starting March 1

Where: Women’s Healthcare of Illinois

Our instructor: Asta Urbonaviciute is certified pre- and post-natal yoga instructor. She has three young children and resides in the Frankfort area. She is excited to help the community feel and move better in their pregnancy to make way for an easier labor and after birth recovery.

Cost: $120 per person for the 6-week series

This six-week series is designed for pregnant women to connect through breathing, gentle movement, mediation, and self-reflection. Prenatal yoga is a way to maintain a healthy body and mind, while practicing coping skills to aid with challenging and intense moments experienced in pregnancy and beyond. This class helps bring woman-to-woman connection to foster a community to support each other through the joys and challenges of motherhood. Partners are welcome to join one class to connect with the mother and unborn baby.

Note: Please bring your own yoga mat and two pillows.

Postnatal Yoga

This class is to help the body recover post-birth. This slow-flow-based six-week yoga series is designed to connect the body with the breath. Participants will find fluidity through movement, exploring stillness and intensity while learning how to intentionally navigate through both. Participants will also focus on areas of the body that need strengthening while learning how to find lightness in the areas that may feel tight or stagnant. Mamas are welcome to bring their babies under four months old.

Infant Massage

Our instructor: Leah Lichy is a licensed massage therapist with certification in infant massage. She has been working with families pre- and postnatally for the past 16 years. She is also a mom to two young children. 

Join us for a hands-on workshop to learn the benefits of infant massage. Learn how to perform infant massage strokes and how to read your baby’s cues. This is 90-minute workshop includes handouts to bring home, as well as massage oil that parents can customize for their little one.

Note: Please bring a blanket to act as a mat/cushion for your baby

Postpartum Wellness Workshop

When: Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to noon

Our instructors: Robin Ross is a doula and hypnobirthing instructor with more than 11 years experience, and Katie Zobrist has been a certified childbirth instructor and birth advocate for more than eight years. 

Attendees will gain a stronger understanding on how to prepare for self care after their baby is born to make a smoother transition into postpartum happiness. Couples will receive detailed handouts that they can reference after class, as well as sample teas that can help post-birth.

Breastfeeding Expertise

When: Saturday, March 21, from 10 a.m. to 12:30 p.m.

Our instructors: Heather Dvorak is an International Board Certified Lactation Consultant (IBCLC) who is a mother of four young children, including twins! 

Our comprehensive prenatal breastfeeding class for expecting parents will provide a solid foundation for a successful breastfeeding relationship. We will cover everything from pregnancy preparations for breastfeeding to latching, positioning, how to know baby is getting enough, preparing for returning to work, and an introduction to pumping. This class will cover all that is typically included in a hospital course … and more. This class will help to build confidence to start your breastfeeding journey!

Prenatal Nutrition: Eating for Two

Our instructor: Dr. Katie O’Connor (or Dr. O, as many of her patients call her), is a chiropractor specializing in perinatal care.

In this class, you will learn the best things to eat to help your new baby grow and develop to their healthy full potential; ways to avoid gestational diabetes and the potential effects it can have on your baby; and strategies for limiting morning sickness. You’ll also learn how to maintain a proper healthy weight throughout pregnancy and go-to meals and snacks for a busy life.

Organic Birth Weekend
